I bought this about 30+ years ago only because I thought it was unusual and loved the blue colours. I am not a collector and therefore knew nothing of the piece or even of Troika Pottery, until a few years ago when I happened to see a picture of a similar piece in a book. My piece has been in storage for the most part of my ownership. It is undamaged. The designer is Avril Bennet. The grey side has what I'd describe as a globe on a stand and a "Play button" arrow on the top right corner. I've tried pressing the play button but the globe does not spin. ;-)

  • One of the most iconic pieces in Troika Pottery and a favourite of mine......the Troika Mask! These were produced at the Newlyn pottery from the early 70's in varying designs but due to easily toppling over were not that popular with the buying public. Measurements: 25cm x 19 cm x 5.5cm

  • Decorator: Benny Sirota circa 1963 - 1980 Colours: Blue, Green, Orange, Black and Dark Brown Finish: Glazed, Smooth, Textured
  • This love plaque was a very, very expensive purchase for me but I've always consoled myself in the knowledge that it was personally owned and decorated by Benny Sirota who gifted it to his mother. An added highlight for me when I obtained this plaque was meeting Benny and his wife at their home in Wells Somerset. I'll always remember having a cup of tea with them and Benny telling me how amazed he was that Troika Pottery had again 'taken off' in the way that it had and along with that, the incredible prices that it was now achieving. I think it's fair to say that I didn't help regarding those prices when I purchased the Love Plaque......!
