This is a Narrow Heals Lamp Base with dimensions as follows: Height.......... 26 cm Width........17.8 cm Depth........6.5 cm The two ‘Figure of Eight’ lamp bases I own were purchased at an Antiques Fair in Sussex several years ago. The other figure of eight piece I own is a Large Lamp Base. Both lamp bases vary regarding their size. The seller had just missed the ‘cut off’ date for committing them to auction at Bonhams in London so decided to bring them along to the fair. When I spotted them I immediately placed my hands on them as another person who’d also seen them was just about to pick one up.....phew! Luckily for me I had dealt with the dealer before and she recognized me so we agreed on a price straight away.

Another favourite of mine, is this 4 footed twin handled vessel due mainly to the design of a smiling cubist face on one side with the reverse showing a sad crying face in the style of artist Paul Klee. This unique piece circa 1964 by Leslie Illsley is decorated in a blue/black glaze on a white ground and can be found in Carol Cashmore’s ‘Troika Pottery St Ives’ and also Ben Harris & Lawrence Illsleys ‘troika 63-83’ books. Height 14.5 cm Widest Point 12 cm

This blue glazed ‘St Ives Plaque’ in a matt finish is one of my favourite pieces. According to George Perrott’s ‘Troika Ceramics of Cornwall’ book, at the time of purchase of this plaque there was only one other known to exist, that one being finished in a white glaze. The plaque depicts an aerial view of St Ives Harbour and is 'taken' from a painting by Cornish artist Alfred Wallis 1855-1942. This Troika piece was decorated by Honor Curtis. Measurements: 29.5 cm x 21.5 cm x 1.7cm
