Another favourite of mine, is this 4 footed twin handled vessel due mainly to the design of a smiling cubist face on one side with the reverse showing a sad crying face in the style of artist Paul Klee.
This unique piece circa 1964 by Leslie Illsley is decorated in a blue/black glaze on a white ground and can be found in Carol Cashmore’s ‘Troika Pottery St Ives’ and also Ben Harris & Lawrence Illsleys ‘troika 63-83’ books.
