Very Rare St Ives Plaque

This blue glazed ‘St Ives Plaque’ in a matt finish is one of my favourite pieces.

According to George Perrott’s ‘Troika Ceramics of Cornwall’ book, at the time of purchase of this plaque there was only one other known to exist, that one being finished in a white glaze.

The plaque depicts an aerial view of St Ives Harbour and is ‘taken’ from a painting by Cornish artist Alfred Wallis 1855-1942.

This Troika piece was decorated by Honor Curtis.
Measurements: 29.5 cm x 21.5 cm x 1.7cm
