A recently purchased D-plate from eBay raised immediate suspicions about its authenticity. Once unboxed, the weight alone suggested it was not genuine, even before the bubble wrap was fully removed.

The glaze finish, surface texture, weight, clay composition, and backstamp all point towards it being a reproduction rather than an authentic Troika piece. Should the seller choose to relist it, one can only hope it is not presented as genuine. Having images of this example available online will allow collectors to compare and research before making a purchase, potentially protecting buyers from an unfortunate acquisition.
