Here’s a lovely Troika pottery marmalade jar in deep, bold, colours of mainly blues, and a bit of green and orange. The piece has a textured, glazed surface which is typical with Troika marmalade jars. The jar is decorated by M. Murell circa 1974-1975.

Ive been collecting troika for only the last few months having purchased my first piece at a collector’s fair in January 2020. Since then, to date, I have approximately 60 pieces of various designs although I do have a particular penchant for vases and jars. Always intrigued by the numerous designs and textures never knowing how many are out there, and always buying pieces because I like them. There is always a new design that you haven’t seen or a decorator that hasn’t been recorded… Passion and fascination will keep me collecting for many years to come… As long as I don’t run out of room or the kids disown me for being totally mad… Alan
