St. Ives Stove Man Chimney Vase 00787
Description
Acquired from a private collector, this has the distinct Stove Man pattern on one face – this is finished in a blue tin glaze with underlying green tints. The sides and top have a manganese oxide glaze creating a bronze effect finish and the second side a pale grey green background glaze, with blue Stove Man circle lower down, two impressed linear rectangles and two dots in relief above. It is slightly heavier than other Chimney vases, and the painted monogram Troika St Ives carries what might be a version of Leslie Ilsley’s monogram
